Ecovacs combines robot vacuum and mop with a handheld vac

The Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni, one of our favorite robot vacuums of 2023, may have just gotten better. The new Deebot X2 Combo, which Ecovacs debuted at CES 2024, keeps everything we loved about the X2 Omni and adds a handheld vacuum that charges and empties at the same base station.

The X2 Combo includes essentially the same robot vacuum as the X2 Omni, with its square design for better edge cleaning, 8,000 Pa of suction, and rotating mop pads for wet cleaning hard floor surfaces.

The base station also appears to remain the same, automating the yuckiest parts of vacuuming and mopping by auto-emptying the robot’s dustbin and cleaning and drying its mops.

But the base has a new function as well: the ability to charge and empty the accompanying handheld vacuum.

The idea behind the addition of the handheld vac is that it allows the user to clean areas that are hard or impossible for the robot to reach, such as tight crevices and furniture upholstery.

The handheld component boasts the same 8,000 Pa of suction as its robot counterpart and comes in two variations: a standard handheld and handheld with stick attachment.

The X2 Combo also includes Matter support, following last year’s addition of robot vacuums to the Matter specification.

Besides the X2 Combo, Ecovacs debuted its new Winbot W2 Omni robot window cleaner at CES.

The Winbot W2 Omni includes two components: a robot window washer and a multi-functional station to which it is connected by a cord.

The robot uses the Win-SLAM 3.0 intelligent navigation system to maneuver across windows and a three-nozzle system to evenly spray the glass.

Pricing and release dates for the two products weren’t available at press time, but we should learn more in the coming weeks.
