If you have ceiling fans with integrated lights, you’ll want to consider adding TP-Link’s new Kasa Smart KS240 to your smart home system. This in-wall controller can not only adjust the fan’s speed, but it can also dim its integrated lights, thanks to independent vertical touch-sensitive sliders.
But you won’t need to get out of your chair to touch those sliders if you don’t want to. The device connects to Wi-Fi and is compatible with the Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Home smart home ecosystems, so you can just give your fan a shout out to control it.
This news story is part of TechHive’s in-depth coverage of the best smart dimmers and switches.
TP-Link says you’ll also be able to schedule fade-on and fade-off fan and light events, with four fan speeds and brightness on a scale of 1 to 100. A Sleep mode can automatically switch the fan to a slower speed at night, and an Away mode can simulate a lived-in space by turning the fan and lights on and off at random times to deter burglars while you’re not home.
The TP-Link Kasa Smart KS240 Smart Fan Control and Light Dimmer is priced at $49.99 and is available at Amazon now. We’ll have a comprehensive review soon.
