Schema Markup Explained: How to Make Google Understand Your Business

Schema markup is code that tells search engines exactly what your website is about. Without it, Google has to guess. With it, your business can appear in rich search results with star ratings, opening hours, prices, and FAQ sections.

Types of schema that matter most

Organization. Tells Google your business name, logo, contact details, and social profiles.

LocalBusiness. Adds your address, opening hours, and service area. Critical for businesses that serve a local area.

Product. Describes what you sell with prices, availability, and reviews.

FAQ. Marks up frequently asked questions so they can appear directly in search results.

How to add it

If you use WordPress with Rank Math or Yoast, schema markup can be added through the plugin settings. For other platforms, Google Tag Manager or manual insertion into your page template works.

How LaunchKitty checks

We detect schema markup types on every scan. If no structured data is found, we flag it with a prescription explaining what types are most relevant for your business type.
